Golfing

If you are looking for some fun (and very different!) places to play a round, try the Gulf Savannah’s unique courses! You may wish to take just a small club selection on your trip or hire clubs along the way.

Georgetown

On the Northern end of town is Georgetown’s very own 9 hole golf course, spanning Sandy Creek. Unlike most golf courses Georgetown has sand greens. This offers a fun new experience for every keen golfer. Golfing on the course is allowed all year round (honesty box provided) with the Georgetown’s Golf Club open from 5pm every night, except Wednesday. Phone (07) 4062 1157

Croydon

Enjoy a free game of golf on Croydon’s 9 hole Savannah Golf Course, endorsed by Greg Norman’s pro team in 2011. The course has artificial turf at the tees and greens and meanders through the natural Savannah terrain suiting beginners and advanced players. Get your maps and score cards from the True Blue Visitor Information Centre or here and if you haven’t brought your golf clubs, sets are available at the Croydon Caravan Park.

Karumba

The Recreation and Gulf Club has a Bowling Green and 9 hole Golf Course, Club house for Darts and Pool as well as various sporting events and community activities throughout the year. Wednesday nights – social bowls from 4pm. Golf – all welcome on Thursday and Sunday Golf from 7.30am ($8) or there is an honesty box on the course for anyone who would like to play at other times. Golf Clubs and Bags are available to hire. Phone (07) 4745 9100
