On the Northern end of town is Georgetown’s very own 9 hole golf course, spanning Sandy Creek. Unlike most golf courses Georgetown has sand greens. This offers a fun new experience for every keen golfer. Enjoy a free game of golf on Croydon’s 9 hole Savannah Golf Course, endorsed by Greg Norman’s pro team in 2011. The course has artificial turf at the tees and greens and meanders through the natural Savannah terrain suiting beginners and advanced players. Get your maps and score cards from the True Blue Visitor Information Centre or here and if you haven’t brought your golf clubs, sets are available at the Croydon Caravan Park.
The Recreation and Gulf Club has a Bowling Green and 9 hole Golf Course, Club house for Darts and Pool as well as various sporting events and community activities throughout the year. Wednesday nights – social bowls from 4pm. Golf – all welcome on Thursday and Sunday Golf from 7.30am ($8) or there is an honesty box on the course for anyone who would like to play at other times.
